Dementia care that keeps life familiar.

Staying at home, with familiar routines, faces and surroundings, is one of the most powerful things you can do for someone living with dementia. Our small, consistent teams make that possible — from an hour a day to round-the-clock support.

What’s included

What this care includes

Every package is built around a personal plan agreed with you and your family — flexible visits from one hour through to full 24/7 support, delivered by a small, consistent team of SSSC-registered carers.

Consistent, familiar carers — the same small team, so faces and routines stay recognisable — vital for reducing anxiety and confusion

Routine-led support — meals, medication prompts, personal care and daily structure built around the life your loved one has always led

Meaningful engagement — conversation, music, photographs, walks and activities that connect to who the person is

Safety at home — gentle supervision, risk awareness, and prompt communication with family when anything changes

Support for the family — regular updates, honest advice, and respite so family carers can rest

Day and night cover — evening settles, waking nights, sleepovers and full 24/7 live-in care as needs progress

Who it’s for

What this care includes

Families usually come to us at one of two points: early on, when a diagnosis is new and a little structure and companionship keeps someone independent — or later, when confusion, wandering risk or carer exhaustion means the current arrangement isn’t safe or sustainable any more.

In both cases the goal is the same: keep the person at home, safe and settled, for as long as that is the right place to be. Care at home consistently works better for people with dementia than an unfamiliar setting, because memory relies on familiarity — the same kitchen, the same chair, the same view from the window.

Our carers are trained to work with the person, not just the diagnosis: to slow down, to reassure rather than correct, and to spot the small changes that matter. As needs progress, the same team can step up from daily visits to overnight, 24-hour and live-in care — so nothing familiar has to change.

Questions families ask

Frequently asked questions

Can you keep the same carers each visit?

Yes — consistency is the foundation of good dementia care, so we deliberately keep teams small. You’ll meet your carers before care begins, and we avoid a revolving door of new faces.

The care plan grows with the person. Many families start with a daily visit and step up gradually to multiple visits, overnight support, and eventually 24-hour or live-in care — with the same familiar team throughout.

Often, yes. We start slowly — sometimes just companionship — and build trust before introducing personal care. Our carers are trained to reassure rather than confront, and we’ll be honest with you about what’s working.

It can be. Free Personal Care applies in Scotland regardless of age for those assessed as needing it, and Self-Directed Support lets you choose your own provider. We’ll explain the options — see our costs and funding guide.

Yes. We provide waking nights, sleepover support and full 24-hour live-in dementia care across Edinburgh, Fife, Kinross and Perth.
