Specialist dementia care, in familiar surroundings
Calm, person-centred dementia support at home — familiar carers and steady routines that help your loved one stay safe, settled and themselves, for as long as possible.
Dementia care at home is specialist support that helps a person living with dementia stay safely and comfortably in their own home. Eidyn Care provides person-centred dementia care across Edinburgh and Fife — built on familiar faces, steady routines and a calm approach to daily life, memory and wellbeing.
Helping people live well with dementia, at home
For many people living with dementia, home is where they feel safest. Familiar rooms, routines and faces can ease confusion and distress in a way no new environment can. Our role is to support that — gently, patiently and without taking away independence.
Dementia support is one of our core specialisms. Our carers receive dedicated dementia training, including immersive experiences such as the Dementia Bus, so they understand not just what to do, but how it feels. Every visit is a minimum of one hour, giving real time for unhurried, compassionate care. Our carers are SSSC-registered and work to the Health and Social Care Standards, and we're a proud Living Wage employer.

Dementia care — common questions
Can someone with dementia stay in their own home?
Often, yes. With the right support many people live well at home for a long time. Familiar surroundings and routines can reduce confusion and distress, and care can flex from a few hours a week up to full daily support.
Will the same carers visit each time?
Yes. Continuity matters enormously in dementia care, so we match a small, consistent team who get to know the person and what helps them feel calm and secure.
What if Mum or Dad refuses help at first?
That's very common. We introduce care gently, often starting with companionship visits, and build trust at the person's pace. Our carers are trained to approach reluctance with patience, never pressure.
Is dementia personal care free in Scotland?
Personal care is free for anyone in Scotland assessed by their local council as needing it, regardless of age or means. Other support, and privately arranged top-up hours, are charged. See our costs guide or call us.
