Rebecca, our Registered Manager, started her career in the Financial Services sector, and following the birth of her first son realised that her vocation was helping people and retrained as a Nurse in 2009. Rebecca specialised in Oncology during the last year of her training at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, and after qualifiying with her degree in Nursing she remained there. Working on a busy oncology ward has provided Rebecca with many years of practical experience in delivering care to people who are at their most vulnerable, giving her the skills and insight to realise that helping people to live with dignity and respect at the end of their life was something Rebecca was passionate about pursuing.
In 2011, following the birth of her second son Rebecca changed direction and moved to work at St Columba’s Hospice, Edinburgh enhancing her skills and experience. It was this experience which prompted Rebecca to form Eidyn Care, along with her husband Andrew, to enhance services already provided in the community allowing more people to stay in their own homes when faced with life limiting difficulties. Rebecca recognises the need for people to feel comfortable within their own home environment reducing the pain, stress and anxiety for clients and their loved ones.
Andrew has run his own successful business consultancy for many years, specialising in Information Technology (IT), managing large teams across the world and multi-million pound budgets. Andrew brings to Eidyn Care a vast amount of IT experience ensuring we have the right systems in place to support delivery of care, allowing caregivers to have access to real time information about their clients which means they can focus on their client and provide the best care for them. As Operations Manager Andrew looks after the administration of the business, using technology to streamline the scheduling of the carers and manage payroll and invoices.

We believe there are 3 key areas to ensure successful home care support
Each of our caregivers has a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the healthcare environment. They will have a Level 2 SVQ qualification in Health and Social Care, or be supported in working towards it. All caregivers will go through a thorough vetting process including PVG disclosure and a full employment and character reference check prior to entering your home.
Ongoing training for caregivers and managers is one of our Core Values, and all staff will receive 3 months on the job induction training and annual updates. They are supported by a mentor to help them get familiar with Eidyn Care’s ways of work. Eidyn Care follow the National Care Standards and best practice legislation and provide caregivers with immediate updates as they happen. This ensures that you or your loved ones receive the best possible care given by highly trained, motivated and empowered caregivers.
To ensure we keep up to date with any changes to legislation or best practice, Eidyn Care Limited have partnered Croner – specialists in healthand safety. They will advise all changes as they happen and we will then ensure our caregivers and managers are informed and appropriate training given if required.
Feedback is crucial and we undertake regular client, family and caregivers satisfaction surveys, actively encouraging open communication across our organisation. Any issues highlighted will be immediately addressed and all compliments will be passed on to the appropriate person. Our complaints policy is available to all clients and our whistleblowing policy is highlighted to our caregivers, ensuring transparency at all times.

After working for 8 years as an Oncology Registered General Nurse, Rebecca realised there was no service providing advanced care in the home.
She will be your main liaision point and ensures caregivers are all fully vetted and adhere to the latest policies and procedures.
Rebecca likes singing, reading and knitting.
Andrew has worked in IT for many years managing teams across the world. He loves identifying opportunities to streamline processes and use technology to make sure everything runs smoothly for everyone.
When not running the day to day operation of Eidyn Care, he can be found on a bike or a boat.
Our mad English Springer Spaniel ensures we get out for lots of fresh air and keeps our feet warm during the long hours in front of the computer.
When not helping with making another cup of Tea, Eloi loves leaves, mud and long walks
I have been a Trainer in courses and workshops for several years and I have a passion for specialised End of Life Care. My background has included managing Public Houses, working both as a volunteer and employee in End of Life Care/ Cancer Care.
My aim is to bring high quality care to clients by providing full training to all staff and ensuring they feel confident in their role.
I joined Eidyn Care in April 2017 and thoroughly enjoy working for this company.
I have over 10 years experience working in Care and live in close to the Sea in Edinburgh
When not visiting clients, interviewing new candidates I enjoy walking and going swimming.
